The government of Jammu and Kashmir has ordered all the employees based in Srinagar and Jammu to participate in main Independence Day celebrations on August 15, 2024.
According to the order, a copy of which is available with Kashmir Bulletin (KB), Independence Day is an important national event celebrated every year on August 15. All government employees are duty-bound to take part in the celebrations marking this important turning point in the history of our country.
The directive further states that every officer/official within the Union Territory should attend either Bakshi Stadium at Srinagar or Maulana Azad Stadium at Jammu- attendance forming part of their official duties, without prior permission from the immediate superior no absence can be excused.
Other national administrative orders have emphasized that Administrative Secretaries, Heads of Departments, Managing Directors/Chief Executives Public Sector Undertakings are expected to ensure the presence of all officers and officials under their control who are posted in Srinagar and Jammu.
